Baseball Returns to Snowbird Classic for Second Weekend

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall baseball returns to the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Florida, for the second straight weekend. It will play St. Bonaventure on Friday and Sunday with a twin-bill against Northeastern on Saturday.

The Herd went 1-3 in the first weekend at the Snowbird Classic defeating BYU in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday.

Kyle Schaefer led the way with six hits, including a homer.

Ryan Leitch brought home a team-high five RBI in the opening weekend of the season.

On the mound, starting pitchers Raymond Pacella and Zac Addkison each struck out eight batters in their opening appearances.

Scouting St. Bonaventure
The Bonnies finished last season with a 7-24 record and Friday will be their first game of the 2022 campaign.

St. Bonaventure returns all, but starter from last season.

Scouting Northeastern
The Huskies opened the season last weekend in Cary, North Carolina, with a 2-2 record, recording wins over Monmouth and Penn St.

Mike Sirota had a big opening weekend batting .588 with a home run and five RBI. He had 10 hits in 17 at-bats.
