MIAMI – The Marshall University baseball team (11-9-1, 1-2 C-USA) lost the series finale, 13-3, in seven innings to the FIU Panthers (9-12, 2-1) on Sunday afternoon in Miami.

MU starting pitcher Ryan Capuano regained his composure and threw scoreless second, third, fourth innings to keep the deficit at 7-0.
FIU took advantage of a pair of Herd errors in the bottom of the fifth to plate six runs in the frame, four of which came on an Alec Sanchez grand slam.
Marshall began the top of the sixth with back-to-back singles by Luke Edwards and Christian Lucio. Then a pair of wild pitches allowed Lucio and Williams to cross home making it 13-3 Panthers.
Relief pitcher Cole Agemy faced the minimum in a scoreless bottom of the six. However, the game ended after the top of the seventh due to the conference's run rule for the final game in C-USA series.
