Two school records fall
RESULTS
HARRISONBURG, Va. – Marshall's track and field team had a stellar day Saturday at the JMU Invitational, setting numerous records and lifetime-bests along the way.

Ashonti Warner won both the 100 and 400 hurdles with lifetime-bests, meet and stadium records in both events. The 400 victory (58.17 seconds) was also a school record and the top time in Conference USA. Warner's 13.61-second time in the 100 was the third-fastest mark in Conference USA this season. Tyra Thomas (13.85) came in second in the 100 hurdles, a lifetime-best time that is the fourth-fastest mark in the league. Marlee Porter's 1:04.48 time in the 400 was also a lifetime-best. Mikah Alleyne's 59.29 in the 400 hurdles is the conference's fourth-fastest time.

Kylee Mastin picked up a victory in the 1500 meters (4:35.13), another lifetime-best (by four seconds) that is now the second-fastest mark in school history.

Maria Parra won the long jump with a leap of 5.73 meters, another lifetime-best.

Abby Herring placed second in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:54.72, smashing the 2007 school record mark by Marian Brooks (10:01.02).

Macie Majoy took second in the pole vault with a meet and stadium-record 3.91 meters.

The Thundering Herd missed out on the top of the podium in the hammer throw, but took the next four spots. Brooke Burns' heave of 54.97 meters was a lifetime-best.

Jillian King (4th, 57.39) and Erica Murphy (5th, 57.59) both set lifetime-bests in the 400 meters.
