Herring Placed Second at Mike Baumer XC Classic

Women finish fourth, men place sixth
FAIRBORN, Ohio – Marshall women's cross country senior Abby Herring placed second at the Mike Baumer XC Classic on Friday evening in Fairborn, Ohio.
The women placed fourth with 94 points and the men placed 6th with 178 points.
"I am so excited for this group," Herd cross country head coach Caleb Bowen said. "That was a heck of an opener for both groups. It was awesome seeing Branden (Wood) step up and lead the team on the men's side. And the women, good gravy they went for it. I loved the way they pushed from the gun and the way they fought. It was exciting watching Abby (Herring) lead the entire race up until the last 300 meters and the pack was so strong. I can't wait for our next meet at Virginia Tech now."
