HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall cross country teams prepare for the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Cross Country Championship at Graham Creek Nature Preserve in Foley, Alabama.
The Women's 5K Championship will be at 11:02 a.m. eastern on Saturday, (10:02 a.m. local time) and the Men's 8K will follow at 12 p.m. eastern (11 a.m. local time).
The meet will be broadcast on ESPN+ with live results, which can be viewed HERE.
In the Herd's first SBC Championship last year, the Marshall women finished fourth out of 13, while the men finished fourth out of nine.
All three of MU's SBC All-Conference members from 2022 will be racing Saturday. Abby Herring earned a First Team spot (fourth place overall) while Kylee Mastin and Evan White earned Third Team honors last season.
"I get excited for every opportunity for our team to compete but this one means the most," Head Coach Caleb Bowen said. "At the beginning of every year, we plan every run, every workout, every step in order to prepare for the conference championship. At this point, the training has been done. Now we need to come into the meet on Saturday excited and ready to be gritty."
Scheduled competing runners:
Men: Kent Bee, Zach Cannon, Brady Dawkins, Garrett Ferguson, Ronnie Saunders, Nathaniel Schneider, Paul Sepulveda, Evan White
Women: Asha Bora, Tori Dotson, Abby Herring, Kalei Jordan, Kylee Mastin, Sophia Newsome, Hannah Toth, Hannah Wyler
