Men finish second as teams combine to take seven individual wins

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Marshall track and field teams could not have asked for a better final tune-up into the Sun Belt Indoor Championships next week. 

The Thundering Herd women finished with 165 points to win the Marshall Invitational. The men took second with 135 points. 

Top finishes Saturday included two school records broken with Kylee Mastin in the 800 (2:11.67) and Abby Herring in the 3,000 (9:47.40). The women won four events in total on Saturday.

The men saw wins from Kazuma Bowing in the mile, Bowring's 4:12.12 was the fastest mile by any Marshall athlete this season. Joshua Bowers also had a season-best day in the sprints. His 6.88 in the 60m dash won the event. 

The Herd also celebrated all alumni and seniors on Saturday from the Jeff Small Track at the Chris Cline Athletic Complex
