Herd Baseball to Host Ohio State; Adds Contest at Cincinnati Next Tuesday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University baseball team (8-5) is set to play host to the Ohio State Buckeyes (8-6) in Charleston, West Virginia, on Wednesday at GoMart Ballpark.

The Herd also added a contest in Cincinnati, Ohio, next Tuesday against Bearcats at 5 p.m.

Kyle Schaefer has a 13-game on-base streak after seeing his hitting streak end at 11 games on Saturday.

Marshall's scheduled starting pitcher Zac Addkison threw 5.1 innings in game two of a doubleheader. The junior had five strikeouts in his outing.

Luke Edwards has a team-high 17 hits and is tied with Schaefer with a team-best five doubles and 11 RBI. Edwards has 47 two baggers in his career and two away from breaking Victor Gomez's program mark of 48.

Edwards has also scored a team-best 13 runs this season.

Chris Noble, Gabriel Cabrera, Edwards and Schaefer have all hit two homers this season.

Scouting Ohio State
The Buckeyes are 8-6 after sweeping a three-game series at Cal State Bakersfield last weekend.

OSU's projected starting pitcher George Eisenhardt has one start and one relief appearance under his belt this season. He's thrown 5.0 innings giving up one run on two hits.

Cole Andrews leads the Buckeyes .467 batting average and 15 RBI.
