HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Luke Edwards collected the 200th hit of his career on Wednesday in the Marshall University baseball team's (8-6) contest on Wednesday against the Ohio State Buckeyes (9-6). The Herd fell 5-1 in the ballgame.

"Losing is never fun, but we'll learn from it," MU baseball head coach Greg Beals said.

Edwards became just the seventh player in program history to record 200 hits as he singled in the bottom of the first. The fifth-year senior also reached base on a walk and scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the sixth.

Zac Addkison started the game on the bump throwing a scoreless top of the first. Cole Agemy, Chad Heiner, and Ryan Capuano also pitched scoreless frames with Drew Harlow throwing 1.2 innings of scoreless baseball.

Harlow has now gone 17.0 innings to begin the season without giving up a run on just five hits and a walk while striking out 22.

Marshall is set to host its first Sun Belt Conference game on Friday to begin a three-game series against App State. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday at GoMart Ballpark in Charleston, West Virginia.
