Final Results

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Marshall track and field teams finished the River City Spring Break Classic with a number of individual wins and historic finishes.

"Man what a great start to the outdoor season," head coach Jeff Small said. "Winning five events with our athletes recording 37 lifetime bests exceeded our expectations. Mikah Alleyne's 400 hurdle winning time along with Tyra Thomas's win should qualify them both for NCAA's! Macie Majoy's and Rebecca Merritt's marks could also get them to the big dance! Kylee Mastin's school record setting performances continues into the outdoor season. Brett Armbruster and Evan White had historic performances in their events for the men's team. We are very proud of our team this weekend!"

Majoy, the First Team All-Sun Belt Conference member, won the Pole Vault with a 4.00 meter vault. As in the Indoor Championships, Dianna Goodman followed suit with a second placed 3.85 meter vault.

Merritt earned a second victory in the field events in the Discus Throw. Her 49.93 meter throw set a new personal record.

On the track, Thomas - the school record holder in the 60 meter hurdles indoors - opened her outdoor season with a top finish in the 100 meter hurdles, racing a time of 13.52. Thomas's individual victory in the hurdles followed Alleyne's victory in the 400 meter hurdles Thursday.

The women's 4x400 team closed the weekend of Alleyne, Astoria Beckett, Niyah Mitchell, and Marlee Porter raced a 3:47.51 to round out the Herd's fifth victory of the meet.

Armbruster followed up his solid performance Thursday in the 1500 with a fourth placed finish in the 800 Friday. The senior from Barboursville raced a 1:52.07
