MU T&F Closes Effective Weekend In South Carolina

Brett Armbruster wins men’s 800 invite.
COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Marshall track and field teams completed the Weems Baskin Invitational at the University of South Carolina Saturday.
"We had a lot of good performances this weekend," Head Coach Jeff Small said. "We are looking forward to the off weekend coming up so that we can put in two solid weeks of training before our next competition."
10 Marshall track and field athletes placed Saturday including the current Sun Belt Men's Track Athlete of the Week Brett Armbruster winning the men's 800 invite with a 1:52.09.
A pair of second place finishes led the women Saturday including Rebecca Merritt's runner-up finish in the discus. The women's 4x400 team with Mikah Alleyne, Astoria Beckett, Niyah Mitchell, and Marlee Porter set a season-best 3:45.33.
