Herd Baseball Set for Series at ULM

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University baseball team (11-11, 2-4 Sun Belt) continues Sun Belt Conference against the ULM Warhawks (9-17, 0-6 Sun Belt) for a three-game series beginning on Friday in Monroe, Louisiana.

Friday's scheduled starting pitcher Patrick Copen was named SBC Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday. Copen's 49 strikeouts this season lead the SBC.

Luke Edwards leads Marshall with .319 batting average, 29 hits, 24 runs scored and seven doubles. He also has a team-high two triples this season.

Owen Ayers has a team-best 20 RBI and four homers during the season.

Closer Ryan Capuano has four saves, ranking third in the SBC.

Scouting ULM
The Warhawks have been swept in their opening two conference series against Old Dominion and at Troy. ULM is coming off a mid-week triumph at Central Arkansas.

ULM is fourth in the league with 40 stolen bases.

Riley Davis is fifth in the conference with doubles as Shawn Weatherbee is second in the nation and first in the SBC having been hit by 17 pitches this season.

Sunday's scheduled starting pitcher Chipper Menard has punched out 37 batters this season, 10th most in the Sun Belt.
