HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall women's soccer team (5-2-1, 0-1 SBC) continues Sun Belt Conference play against the James Madison Dukes (4-2-3, 1-0 SBC) Thursday evening in Harrisonburg. Kickoff from JMU's Sentara Park is set for 7:00 p.m.

PRE-MATCH NOTES
- Marshall was honored Tuesday by the Cabell County School Board for its community service initiatives. Read the BOE's proclamation HERE.
- The Herd's Abi Hugh scored her second goal of the year Sunday. Hugh was one of six seniors honored for the team's senior day.
- Marshall and JMU drew 1-1 in Huntington last season. The match was a breakout performance for then-freshman goalkeeper Alexis Wolgemuth, who made six saves in the draw.

ABOUT THE DUKES
- JMU goalkeeper Alexandra Blom was named the Sun Belt Conference Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Blom has recorded four shutouts in 2023, including leading the team's 2-0 win over Arkansas State to open league play.
- Three other players were named from JMU to the Preseason Team, including leading scorer Amanda Attanasi, who has scored three goals with an assist in 2023.
- The Dukes were picked tied atop the SBC Preseason Poll alongside Marshall's opponent Sunday, South Alabama.
