Marshall Track and Field Splits Squads For Season’s First Road Meets

Herd squads to compete at Indiana and VMI over the weekend

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — After a pair of high-level home meets to start the 2023-24 season, the Marshall track and field program travels split-squad for the Indiana Invitational and the VMI Team Challenge.
The Indiana Invitational will be on Friday and Saturday, with the VMI Team Challenge being a one-day meet on Saturday only.

"This is our first time on the road and I am looking forward to seeing the team perform," Director of Track and Field Keith Roberts said. "Being on the road gives us a taste of what it is like to compete at championship meets. With travel you have to prepare differently before and during the competition and for some of the student-athletes they will compete back-to-back days."
"We have had a great week of practice and we can tell the student-athletes are shaking the rust off from winter break. I expect some good performances in many areas."
Following the meets this weekend, Marshall will travel to Louisville for the two-day Lenny Lyles PNC Invitational.
