Marshall Track and Field Opens Outdoor Season in Charlotte

Three-day event starts from UNC Charlotte Thursday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — After the 2023-24 indoor season which saw a pair of individual championships, the Thundering Herd track and field teams open the 2024 outdoor season at the Charlotte 49er Classic.

The three-day meet begins Thursday, with the Herd competing starting on Friday.

The Herd had a successful indoor season, with the women achieving their highest finish in an indoor conference championship.  Director of Track and Field Keith Roberts and the staff will open its first outdoor season as a group. 

After opening the outdoor season this weekend, Marshall track and field will spend spring break in Florida. The Herd will compete at the FSU Invitational in Tallahassee on March 21 and 22.
