Marshall women take 4x100 and 4x800
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A pair of relay victories highlighted Marshall's second and final day at the Charlotte 49er Classic.
The Herd women won the 4x100 to open the day with the team of Faith Gandy, Kennedy Pedro, Marlee Porter, and Tyra Thomas winning with a time of 47.06.
MU would later win the 3200 meter relay with Astoria Beckett, Erykah Christopher, Tori Dotson, and Taylor Spencer winning the event with a 9:20.60.
The 4x400 women finished runner-up and the 4x100 men's team with Ethan Bowens, Joshua Roush, Emirh White, and Isaiah Valentine finished seventh.
Other notables included freshman Dezire Gee finishing second in the 200. Her time of 24.15 is the third-best all-time result in the event for a Marshall runner. Senior Evan White scored for the second consecutive day, doing so Saturday in the 3K.
The Herd will spend spring break in Florida for the FSU Invitational next week.
