Track and Field to Compete at Florida State for Spring Break Relays

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall track and field will spend its spring break in Tallahassee, Florida for the FSU Relays.
The two-day meet begins Thursday from the Mike Long Track at Florida State University at 3 p.m. with events running through Friday afternoon.

The Herd won two events at its first outdoor meet of the season in Charlotte last weekend (Women's 4x100, Women's 4x800). Marshall scored in 21 events in total at its opening weekend to outdoor season.
MU had three individuals score twice in Charlotte. 2023 NCAA Outdoor Preliminary Qualifier Rebecca Merritt scored in the Hammer Throw (4th-56.85m) and Discus (4th-46.61m).
Freshman Dezire Gee finished runner-up in the 200 (24.15), a time which ranks third all-time in program history in the event. Gee also scored in the 400 meter hurdles (8th-1:04.60).
Senior Evan White scored twice individually on the men's side. The All-Conference cross country runner placed in the 3K (5th-8:47.43) and 5K (6th-14:45.61).
