Herd Baseball Set for Road Contest at WVU

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball team (6-13) is set for its second game this season against the West Virginia Mountaineers (11-9) on Wednesday in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Wednesday's ballgame has been moved up to 3:30 p.m. from 6:30 p.m. due to projected cold weather tomorrow evening.

PRE-GAME NOTES

The Herd battled all weekend in a series loss at Southern Miss to open Sun Belt Conference play.
Bryce Blevins hurled a 9.0 inning gem on Saturday in a no decision allowing just one run on two hits and two walks, throwing the first 7.1 innings without giving up a hit.
At the plate Owen Ayers has a team-high 14 RBI, seven doubles and five homers through the first 19 games.
Elijah Vogelsong is swinging a hot bat with two homers in four games last week as Cam Harthan went 6-for-12 in the series at Southern Miss.

ABOUT THE MOUNTAINEERS

WVU fell in a weekend series to Ohio State.
Chunley Reed has a team-best .306 batting average with Sam White at a team-high 22 hits.
Grant Hussey leads the Mountaineers with four homers as White, Logan Sauve and Benjamin Lumsden each have three. Lumsden leads his side with 15 RBI.
