- Owen Ayers enters the series on a 19-game on-base streak. The senior sits 18th nationally and leads the Sun Belt with 18 doubles on the year, six away from breaking his single-season program record of 23 from last season.
- Friday's probable starter Drew Harlow was named SBC Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday after tying his career-high nine strikeouts on Friday in win over Old Dominion. His six wins are tied for the conference lead with his 59 strikeouts ranking third.
- Bryce Blevins, Saturday's probable starter, has the third-best ERA in the country at 1.54 in 64.1 innings. The lefty has allowed three or fewer earned runs in all 11 of his appearances this season, including seven starts.

- Georgia Southern split a pair of midweek contests against Mercer, winning at home Tuesday and falling on the road Wednesday.
- Josh Tate ranks third in the SBC with 20 stolen bases and leads the team with a .347 batting average and 57 hits.
- Friday's probable starter Thomas Higgins sits at a 4-2 record with a 3.45 ERA entering the weekend.
