Marshall finishes with above a 3.9 Team GPA for 2nd consecutive year
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall's Women's Golf program continues to be honored for its team academic excellence, earning the distinction as a WGCA All-Scholar Team for 2023-24.
Marshall finished the 2023-24 year with a 3.916 Team GPA, which tied them for No. 2 in the nation.
It also marked the second year in a row that the Thundering Herd Women's Golf team finished with a 3.9 or above Team GPA, making Marshall the only program in the nation to earn that distinction.
"Our team continues to shine in the classroom and make Marshall University proud," Marshall Women's Golf coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "It is great to see them recognized for the hard work that they put in, and I'm very proud of their commitment to the classroom as student-athletes."
This accolade comes two weeks after Marshall had five players named as WGCA All-Americans – Katie Potter, Emily McLatchey, Abbey Bull, Olivia Kochan and Kasey McIlvaine.
Marshall Women's Golf was the only team to be ranked in the top-5 nationally for two consecutive years. The Herd, who earned the WGCA's top overall mark in 2022-23, also was the Sun Belt's lone representative in the top-20 in the WGCA rankings.
