NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Marshall track & field traveled to an SEC Indoor Meet for the first time since the 2018-19 season with the start of the Vanderbilt Invitational Friday.
With challenging competition, the Herd set two school records, with nine scoring results on a field event-heavy opening day of competition.
Reigning Sun Belt Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week Addison Painter broke his own school record set a week ago with a 7.68 meter jump (over 25 feet) for a top-three finish in the Seeded Men's Long Jump. The mark would place Painter 7th in NCAA Division I entering Friday.
Highlighting the four events ran on the track Friday for Marshall was the Women's Distance Medley Relay team breaking a school record. The team of Kylee Mastin, Brynn McKeever, McKenna Woodruff, and Hannah Wyler raced a time of 11:42.46 to finish runner-up out of 15 schools.
