Track and Field Travels to Nashville for First Road Meet at Vanderbilt Invitational

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall track and field hits the road for the first time in the 2024-25 season by way of the Vanderbilt Invitational in downtown Nashville.
The two-day meet starts at 10 a.m. eastern, 9 central Friday. The final event Saturday is scheduled for 7:50 p.m. eastern, 6:50 local.

"This is going to be a fun meet," Director of Track & Field Keith Roberts said. "There will be SEC schools there with some of the top schools in this region and in the country. Taking a young group there and seeing what it's like on the road, getting in hotels, it's going to be a whole different experience so I am looking forward to seeing how the team competes. I feel like our kids are ready for it and will be excited to get to a new atmosphere and see something different."
Marshall has had a strong start to the 2024-25 season, punctuated by a complete sweep of the Sun Belt Conference's four weekly awards this week. The Herd's Kylee Mastin, Rebecca Merritt, Peter Oliveira, and Addison Painter were named the SBC's weekly recipients.

Following the Vanderbilt Invitational, Marshall will compete at the Bellarmine Classic in Louisville on Friday, Jan. 24.
