Nine Herd T&F Athletes Set New Personal-Bests on First Day of Hokie Invitational

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Marshall Track & Field set two school records and nine more personal records against strong competition on the first day of the Hokie Invitational at Virginia Tech.
Of the 13 scorers Friday, two Herd athletes set school records. Graduate senior Kylee Mastin bested her Indoor 800 time in a 3rd place finish behind a pair of UNC Tar Heels. The back-to-back SBC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week raced a time of 2:10.51, slighting her previous mark of 2:10.61. Marshall also saw freshman Micah Coates finish 7th in the Men's 300 with a time of 34.54, a new school record.
Nine more Marshall athletes set personal-bests Friday, including Destiny Berryman, Luke Goode, Justin Lipscomb, Kylee Mastin, Tavon Simmons-Roberts, Azure Travis, Isaiah Valentine, Alayezia Williams, and Hannah Wyler in the track events.
