Track & Field Continues Indoor Season at Hokie Invitational

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall Track & Field travels to Blacksburg for the Hokie Invitational hosted by Virginia Tech. The two-day meet starts at 4 p.m. Friday with the majority of the events on the track taking place day one. Saturday's events start at 11:30 a.m.

"This is a great opportunity for our team to compete at another high-level meet," Director of Track & Field Keith Roberts said. "Where last week we got to compete against some conference opponents and SEC schools, this week we'll see some ACC schools. It is really good for our team for both the younger and older athletes to get some next level competition which puts them in the fire and prepares them for a conference championship. I am looking for some big performances in all different event areas setting ourselves up for opportunities for success towards the end of the season."

Marshall set two school records at the Vanderbilt Invitational last week in Nashville. Herd graduate senior Kylee Mastin was named the Sun Belt Indoor Female Track Athlete of the Week following the meet.

Following the Hokie Invitational, Marshall will compete at the PNC Bank Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville, Ky.
