12/6/2025 8:31:00 PM | Track and Field
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Track and Field launched its 2025-26 indoor campaign in emphatic fashion Saturday at the Marshall Opener, setting three school records. The Herd additionally captured multiple meet records, with a wave of personal bests and a series of individual event victories, as well as school-Top-5 marks.
"I think today was a good showing of who we are and can be," Director of T&F Keith Roberts said. "We are in a tough conference and there is still a lot of work to do but you can see the progress and the growth of our team. We broke three school records so I am extremely proud of that. Lara Check, to go 6.19 meters, that is a national-level jump. Otenidi Omot to go 51 feet in the triple jump, again, national-level jump, and Tyrell, 8.09 in the hurdles, to get that record as a sophomore, big things there. A lot of meet records, good team spirit, good team energy, and we competed well in a lot of areas. Proud of where we are at, just gotta work hard over break, focus on exams."
