Marshall Baseball to Host App State for Three-Game Series

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball (17-16, 5-7 SBC) prepares to host the App State Mountaineers (17-15, 7-5 SBC) for a three-game series at Jack Cook Field beginning Friday at 6 p.m.

PRE-GAME NOTES

The Herd took its midweek contest 10-5 at Ohio on Wednesday night in Athens.
Maika Niu has a team-leading 13 multi-hit games with Jackson Halter just behind with 12 games after each had a multi-hit effort against the Bobcats.
With two RBI on his third homer of the season on Wednesday, AJ Havrilla leads the team with 26 on the year.
Sunday's probable starting pitcher Clint Moak was this week's SBC Pitcher of the Week for his complete game shutout over No. 13 Southern Miss. The freshman has a 2.23 ERA and a 1-1 record in 12 appearances, three starts, with 24 strikeouts
Griffin Miller, Saturday's probable starter, sports a 3-1 record and 2.51 ERA with a team-high 32 strikeouts.
Friday's probable starting pitcher Bryce Blevins also sits at three wins after a complete game victory over Southern Miss last weekend.

ABOUT THE MOUNTAINEERS

App State picked up a series win at ULM last weekend and took their midweek contest 7-6 on Wednesday over Western Carolina.
The Mountaineers lead the conference in batting average (.305), hits (342) and are tied for the lead in doubles (74).
Tyler Lichtenberger sits 11th in the country with a .435 batting average.
At 11 homers, Juan Correa leads the SBC while sitting second in RBI at 38.
