CONWAY, S.C. – The Marshall University Baseball team (18-20, 6-10 SBC) fell 11-1 in seven innings to No. 21 Coastal Carolina (28-10, 14-2 SBC) in the series opener on Thursday in Conway, South Carolina.
"We played a really good team tonight and we didn't play a very good game against them," Herd Baseball Head Coach Greg Beals said. "We have to get our bats going here tomorrow and bounce back like we have done many times before. I look forward to seeing how we responded."
The Herd's run came on a solo homer by Nolan Wilson with one out on the fifth, his second of the season.
CCU tallied a run in the third, a pair in the fourth and sixth in each of the sixth and seventh innings.
