HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball team (14-15, 3-6 SBC) welcomes the No. 13 Southern Miss Golden Eagles (21-8, 7-2 SBC) starting Friday evening at Jack Cook Field.

PRE-GAME NOTES

The Herd captured a 2-1 win over EKU at home Tuesday in 10 innings. MU moved to 3-0 extra-inning contests in 2025.
Eddie Leon brought home Cam Harthan for the winning run on his seventh double of the season.
Ethan Murdoch tallied his team-best 24th RBI of the year against the Colonels. Murdoch also leads the team with eight homers.
Saturday's probable starter Griffin Miller leads the team and has the fourth best ERA in the SBC at 2.38 with a 3-1 record. Miller also leads the team with 29 strikeouts.
Out of the bullpen Tim Baird sports a 3-1 record after picking up the win over EKU on Tuesday. The righty has 23 strikeouts in 13.1 innings on the bump.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES

Southern Miss picked up a midweek win over Tulane on Tuesday after taking its series over South Alabama over the weekend.
The Golden Eagles have the 25th best team ERA in the nation (4.00) have hit the 28th most homers in the nation (45). USM is also tied with Troy for the most hits in the SBC at 290.
JB Middleton, Friday's probable starter, sports a 2.20 ERA with a 5-1 record and 50 strikeouts in seven starts on the hill this season.
With 10 homers and 10 doubles, Carson Paetow leads Southern Miss in both categories while driving home 28 RBI, two behind Ozzie Pratt's 30.
Jake Cook's .398 batting average sits third in the SBC with 39 hits in 98 at bats.
