KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Marshall's Dezire Gee set a new personal record with a 59.91 to win the 400m hurdles Friday in Knoxville. Her mark is the fourth-fastest in school history and is currently third-fastest in the Sun Belt Conference.Â
The top finish was one of two Herd Track & Field would have on the opening day of the Tennessee Invite with freshman Destiny Berryman winning the 5K. The graduate of Doddridge County High School in West Virginia won the event by 11 seconds.
Gee's victory was one of three Marshall scorers in the event (Myah Boze and Azure Travis) and nine total Friday for Director of Track & Field Keith Roberts' squad. Â
