HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball team is set to open the 2026 season in Kennesaw, Georgia, with a pair of games against Evansville and Kennesaw State during the opening weekend.

The Herd was picked fourth in the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Poll after reaching the semifinals of the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
Friday's opening day starter Bryce Blevins returns to Huntington after throwing 92.1 innings, most on the team, and sporting a 6-6 record.
Starting pitcher Drew Harlow returns to the Herd coming off a season as the Division II leader in strikeouts in 2025 and helping Lenoir-Rhyne to the College World Series.
AJ Havrilla is the team's returning leader in batting average at .287 and RBI with 45 in 2025.

ABOUT THE ACES

Evansville is coming off a 17-37 season in 2025, with a 10-17 record in Missouri Valley Conference Play.
The Aces return their Friday starter from 2024 and 2025 in Kenton Deverman. Deverman was the 2025 DI Baseball MVC Preseason Pitcher of the Year and finished 2025 with the third-fewest walks per nine innings (1.07) and the ninth-best walk-to-strikeout ratio (6.38).

Kennesaw State was picked third in the 2026 Conference USA Preseason Poll after a run to the CUSA Semifinals.
Daneil Powell led the team with 26 appearances out of the bullpen and was named to the 2026 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Stopper of the Year Preseason Watch List. The right-hander posted the fourth-lowest ERA on the staff (4.50) and third-best WHIP (1.27), while holding opposing hitters to a .209 batting average in 2025.
