2020 (FRESHMAN): Made 11 starts in 14 appearances in the shortened season … hit .158 with six hits in 38 at-bats, scoring six runs and hitting one home run (March 8 vs Akron) … also set season-highs in runs scored (3), hits (2) and RBI (2) in the Mar. 8 game against Akron … behind the dish, caught a team-high three opponents attempting to steal, and led the team in putouts with 80 … held a fielding percentage of 1.000 … named to the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll for maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
High School: Attended Sinclair Secondary School…also played club baseball for the Toronto Mets…was his high school’s MVP and was the Senior MVP for the Mets in 2019…helped the Mets to two National Championships in 2015 and 2018…was taken in the 30th Round of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds.
Personal: Born Aug. 26, 2001…son of Rich and Heather Leitch…has one sister, Regan…lists Major League infielder Bo Bichette as his favorite athlete…lists the Toronto Blue Jays as his favorite professional sports team…enjoys playing video games in his spare time.
