Career Notes: Returns after receiving a medical redshirt to be a weekend starter for the Herd...totaled over 100 career innings (107.2)...closing in on 100 career strikeouts (80)...career 4.51 ERA with a 3-10 record.

2010: Made five starts prior to suffering a season-ending injury...finished with a 1-2 record and 6.56 ERA...recorded 19 strikeouts in 23.1 innings...pitched six innings, allowing two earned runs with five strikeouts to be a tough-luck loser at The Citadel (2/27)...earned a no decision pitching five innings, allowing two earned runs on three hits with six strikeouts at Georgia Southern (3/6).

2009: Made a total of 14 appearances, including nine starts...finished with a 1-7 record, despite registering a 3.88 ERA...ranked second in opponents batting average (.232), seventh in ERA (3.88) and tied for eighth in strikeouts looking (21) in C-USA...top returner in innings pitched (60.1) and strikeouts (57)...held left-handed batters to a .217 batting average...buckled down with runners in scoring position, holding opponents to a .215 batting average...was the tough luck loser, working 6.0 frames allowing just one earned run with six strikeouts vs. Tennessee Tech (2/27)...suffered a loss allowing only two earned runs in 6.0 innings with four strikeouts at Kentucky (3/31)...recorded the lone complete game of the season for the Herd...in the complete game set career-highs in innings pitched (9.0) and strikeouts (11)...the 11 strikeouts were the most in a single outing by any Marshall pitcher in 2009...received a ND after firing 7.0 innings allowing one earned run on three hits with nine punch outs vs. Miami-Ohio (5/12).

2008: Made five starts and appeared in eight contests...established a 4.12 ERA with 11 strikeouts in 24.0 innings of work on the mound...recorded a season-high four strikeouts against Eastern Kentucky (4/15) and Ohio (4/29)...earned start against Southern Miss (5/24) during C-USA tournament...finished season with 1-1 record.

High School: Posted a 5-1 record in 37.1 innings, allowed 10 walks and struck out 35 batters during senior season...named second team all-city...was a member of the Midwest Redbirds fall scout team.

Personal: Born May 28, 1989...son of Sue and John Farrell...has a brother Jeremy who played baseball at the University of Virginia...and a brother Luke...father pitched at Oklahoma State and is the head coach of the Toronto Blue Jays...majoring in business management.
