Marshall to honor seven seniors during final home non-conference match

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall women's soccer team welcomes the Eastern Kentucky Colonels to Hoops Family Field, Friday at 7 p.m., for senior night.
The Thundering Herd changes things up this season will honor its seven seniors before the final home non-conference match of the 2018 season. The seniors to be honored on the field are Jayne Lawman, Kylie Slusser, Ashley Seltzer, Peyton Miller, Julianna Smith, Jenna Zuzolo and Courtney Andrews.
Fans who cannot attend the match, can tune in through HerdVision on C-USAtv as Jake Griffith will have the call, as well as on 88.1 WMUL-FM on-air and online at www.marshall.edu/wmul through one of the Listen Live links.
Marshall enters the contest 0-2-1 this season while the Colonels come in at 3-1. The Herd is 4-0 all-time against the Colonels. The last time these two teams met was in 2015, a 5-1 home win for the Herd.
The Herd dropped a 3-1 match in its last outing against the UT-Martin Skyhawks. Junior Farah Abu-Tayeh scored her second goal of the year in the loss. Junior keeper Megan Bonelli has started and played all three of Marshall's matches and has 14 saves. Bonelli has 133 career saves, good for fifth all-time in program history after passing Kai Nordness (2003-05).
EKU has run off three-straight victories since dropping the season-opener, 2-1, at Cincinnati. The wins have come over East Tennessee State (3-1), Ball State (1-0) and IUPUI (3-1). Four players have scored for the Colonels with sophomore Sarah Owusu leading the way with three goals. Junior Erin Torrance has two goals and three assists and leads the squad with seven points. Sophomore Billie Clark and freshman Zoe Aguirre have split time in the net with Aguirre logging the most minutes with 225. Aguirre has allowed one goal while Clark has allowed three.
