Marshall Track and Field Readies for Qdoba Marshall Invitational

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- The Thundering Herd is back home this week for the fifth annual Qdoba Marshall Invitational. The competition is the team's last home meet for the season and it will serve as a run-up to next weekend's Conference USA Indoor Championships. As usual, the two-day meet will take place at the Jeff Small Track within the Chris Cline Indoor Athletic Complex. It begins at 6 p.m. on Friday.
Herd athletes will compete in weight throw, pole vault, the 4000-meter distance medley relay and the 5000-meter on Friday evening. The rest of the action will then take place on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. with high jump and finishing at 3:15 p.m. with the 1600-meter relay.
Tickets will be $5 for adults, $3 for ages 12 and under, and $2 for groups of 10 or more people. Marshall students can gain free admission by showing proof of student ID.
Marshall will compete against five other schools: Northern Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Wright State, Morehead State and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Two key notes on programming and competition format:
-At 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Marshall Track and Field will take a moment to recognize the team's seniors.
-The 60m hurdle final and 60m final will consist of the top eight times from the semifinals.
