Marshall heads to Cincinnati next weekend

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Pepsi Florida Relays concluded Saturday, as Marshall Track and Field completed their six remaining events of the competition. Over 100 colleges were present the past three days, many of which were top-ranked ACC and SEC programs.

The Herd began the day well, setting a new outdoor school record in the 4x100 meter shuttle hurdle relay. The team of Sarah Bever, Christianna Dogan, Safiyyah Mitchell and Taylor Robinson finished third in the event, with a time of 57.26. The previous record of 57.30 was set in 2017. A team of Hannah Carreon, Torie Derrow, Ashonti Warner and Takira Williams also came in sixth (1:00.66).

Marshall competed in just two field events on Saturday: high jump and triple jump. In high jump, Derrow finished 15th—posting a mark of 1.65 meters. Denisha West registered a mark of 11.97 meters in triple jump to take 24th.

In one of Marshall's final events of the day, the 4x200 meter relay, a team of Brandy Elysee, Kayla Haywood, Danere'a White and Talor Wilkerson ran a 1:37.55—coming in 16th.
