HUNTINGTON, W.Va.—Marshall track and field heads to Liberty University for the Flames Invitational Saturday in Lynchburg, Virginia. The meet begins at 10 a.m.
The Herd will compete against five other schools: Campbell, Elon, Liberty, Ohio and St. Augustine's.
Marshall sends 21 athletes to compete in the one-day meet. The Thundering Herd returns to action after a second place finish last weekend in the Thundering Herd Invitational.
After setting a new meet and facility record time last weekend in the 60 meter hurdles, and improving upon what was already the best time in Conference USA, senior Safiyyah Mitchell will look to do what she has done in every single meet this season: win the event. Last weekend she ran in 8.40, nearly hitting her school record time of 8.38 set in 2018.
She will be part of the shuttle hurdles relay, which competes for the first time this season. A full list of competing athletes for Marshall is below.
