Pastoft made five saves

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University women's soccer team (3-8-2, 0-4-1 C-USA) fell 3-0 on Friday night to the UTSA Roadrunners (7-4-1, 2-2-0 C-USA) at Hoops Family Field.
After UTSA fired two shots off target in the first 14 minutes of the contest, Anna Sutter put a header into the back of the net as Marshall trailed 1-0 at the 14:29 mark.
In the 19th minute, the Roadrunners drew a penalty, but freshman goalkeeper Mira Pastoft stopped Ellis Patterson's penalty kick and followed with another save in the 22nd minute on another Patterson shot.
Pastoft kept the deficit at 1-0 with another save at the 28:21 mark of the first half.
Senior forward Kat Gonzalez fired Marshall's lone shot of the opening period off target in 36th minute as the Herd trailed 1-0 at the break.
Pastoft stopped another Patterson shot nearly five minutes into the second half.
In the 71st minute, Deja Sandoval put away another goal for UTSA, off a corner, as Marshall trailed 2-0.
Pastoft responded 10 minutes later with her fifth save of the contest to keep the score 2-0 in the 82nd minute.
Sutter added to the Roadrunners' lead with a brace at the 83:19 mark to put Marshall at a 3-0 disadvantage. Gonzalez nearly found the back of the net with two minutes left, but UTSA keeper Jil Schneider made the save as match finished 3-0.
