BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Marshall track and field had a school record four All-Conference USA performances on Saturday alone at the C-USA Indoor Championships at the Birmingham Crossplex.

After the first day of competition, the Thundering Herd is tied for second place with Southern Miss in team standings with 34 points. Charlotte leads all programs with 50 points.

Five times in school history, Marshall has had three All-Conference USA performances in the Indoor Championships (2011, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020) over the two-day event. By the end of the night Saturday, Marshall had four All-C-USA performances (placing top-3 in an event).

The day began strong when junior Mariah Harmon finished third in the pentathlon with a point total of 3511, the fifth-highest personal record in school history.

Harmon earned six team points in the process, and Torie Derrow finished seventh in the event for the third time in her career at the conference meet to earn two team points.

Junior Macie Majoy broke the school record in the indoor pole vault for the second straight week. She finished second in the event with a new personal and school record clearance of 3.96 meters (12 ft. 11.75 in.) to earn eight team points.

Senior Lauren Zaglifa finished fifth in the pole vault to earn team points for the fifth time in her career at a Conference USA meet.

The distance medley relay team of Tori Dotson, Jillian King, Astoria Beckett and Abby Herring broke the school record time and earned All-Conference USA honors for the first time in school history in the event. The team's third place time of 12:04.15 broke the previous school record of 12:05.97 set in 2017 (Armstrong, Hargrove, Castro, Porter).

To close the night, junior MaryAnn Adebayo in the weight throw earned All-C-USA honors for the first time in her career, setting a personal record of 19.01 meters (62 feet, 4.50 inches). She finished second in the event to earn eight team points.

Marshall had four athletes qualify for Sunday finals based on their performances in preliminary events Saturday. Sophomore Mikah Alleyne qualified for the 400m finals with the second-best prelim time of 56.24.

Senior Taylor Robinson qualified for the 60 meter hurdles finals with a time of 8.78.

Prior to their performances in the DMR, freshman Tori Dotson won her heat to qualify automatically in the 800m with a time of 2:15.36 and sophomore Abby Herring qualified for the mile finals with a time of 5:06.47.
