Marshall to Host EKU at Kennedy Center on Wednesday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University baseball team (9-4) welcomes the EKU Colonels (7-5) to the Kennedy Center on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The Herd took three out of four games from the Oakland Golden Grizzlies this past weekend. It extended its winning streak to eight games before falling in the final contest of the series.

Ryan Leitch drove in seven runs during the four-game set and hit a walk-off homer, his third long ball of the season, to give Marshall a 13-10 win in game three. The sophomore has a team-high 21 RBI and is tied with Kyle Schaefer with a team-best three home runs.

Schaefer has scored a team-high 15 runs in the team's 13 games.

Jordon Billups has a .391 batting average and a .481 on-base percentage and Cole Williams has 20 hits to lead the Green and White.

Wednesday's projected starting pitcher Louis Davenport has given up just two runs in 9.0 innings of work this season. He has a 1-0 record and 12 strikeouts.

Scouting EKU
The Colonels are 7-5 this season and host WKU Tuesday evening before traveling to Huntington on Wednesday. EKU is on a four-game win streak.

Charlie Ludwick has had a hot bat in the Colonels' last five games. He is hitting .471 to go with a 1.118 slugging percentage, three homers and five RBI during that span.
