Majoy wins Pole Vault for first individual championship in Sun Belt Era
Final Results
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Marshall track and field teams completed the Sun Belt Indoor season Tuesday, making history for the university in the process.
Macie Majoy won the Pole Vault with a 3.99 meter vault. Majoy represents the first conference championship won for the school in the Sun Belt Conference era.
The graduate senior from Huron, Ohio is the first Marshall individual conference indoor champion since Kristin Smith won the C-USA Indoor Pentathlon in 2009.
Teammate Dianna Goodman scored a second place finish in the same event. Â
Brett Armbruster completed history for the men. His third place finish in the 800 is the highest finish since James Kneeland won the same event in the 2000 MAC Indoor Championships.Â
Kneeland's 800 time of 1:51.23 was nearly broken by Armbruster's 1:51.44 PR.Â
In total, four Thundering Herd athletes made the podium over two days. Both the men and women finished seventh.Â
