Box Score
Â
MONROE, La. – The Marshall University baseball team (12-12, 3-5 Sun Belt) fell 4-3 in 11 innings on Saturday to the ULM Warhawks (10-18, 1-7 Sun Belt) in game two of its series in Monroe, Louisiana.
Â
"Tough one today for the Herd," Herd baseball head coach Greg Beals said after the contest. "Our team competed really well. Unfortunately, we were unable to produce the offense needed to win the game. Ray (Pacella) pitched an outstanding game and we asked a lot of (Ryan) Cap. Tomorrow we win a road series."
Â
Gio Ferraro collected three hits in four at-bats in the contests including his first multi-homer game with solo shots in the top of the second and top of the fourth.
Â
On the mound, starting pitcher Raymond Pacella went a season-high 7.0 innings and eight strikeouts, allowing just two runs on six hits.
Â
Kebler Peralta had a multi-hit effort with two hits, while driving in a run in the top of the second with a single.
Â
Closer Ryan Capuano made his second appearance in the series pitching 3.2 innings and striking out two.
