Herd Baseball Renews Rivalry at Ohio on Tuesday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University baseball team (13-16) heads to Athens, Ohio, for a matchup with the Ohio Bobcats (13-15) on Tuesday.

Individually, Owen Ayers is fifth in the league with 12 doubles this season as Luke Edwards' three triples place him in a tie for third in the SBC and 36th nationally. Edwards also leads Marshall with 36 hits this season and 27 runs scored while Ayers has a team-best 25 RBI.

The Herd is led in batting average this season by Daniel Carinci at .323 as Gio Ferraro is tied with Ayers at four homers.

The Bobcats are coming off a series sweep of the Toledo Rockets this past weekend.

Alec Patino leads Ohio at the plate in batting average (.343), hits (37), doubles (11) and RBI (35) while ranking second in homers (six).
