Herd Baseball Travels to Georgia for Road Series at Georgia State

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University baseball team (16-22, 5-13 Sun Belt) gets back on the field for a three-game series in Atlanta beginning Friday against Georgia State (21-21, 8-10 Sun Belt).

Patrick Copen, who is scheduled to start on the bump Friday, ranks fourth in the conference with 65 strikeouts as closer Ryan Capunao ranks fourth with five saves

Scouting Georgia State
The Panthers enter the weekend coming off a midweek win against Georgia on Tuesday.

As a team Georgia State has drawn the most walks in the SBC with 224 and as a pitching staff has hit the most batters at 76.

Cameron Jones ranks eighth in the nation with 28 steals this season as Max Ryerson's .530 on-base percentage sits in 12th.

With a 1.17 WHIP, Friday's scheduled starting pitcher Ryan Watson ranks second in the SBC.
