Peralta records career-high three-hit game

Â
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Kebler Peralta registered his first three-hit game of the season as the Marshall University baseball team (16-31) dropped its contest, 6-2, on the road to the Morehead State Eagles (30-18) Wednesday night.
Â
"We played a lot of good baseball tonight," Herd baseball head coach Greg Beals said after the game. "If you look at the scoreboard, we had a big inning. We gave up a five-run inning. We just weren't able to overcome that. We played the ball well, off the bat defensively. Other than that inning, I thought we pitched the ball pretty well. We hit some balls hard right at them. Our quality at bats and hard hits were on par. We just need to find a way to find some holes."
Â
Peralta went 3-for-4 at the dish, all singles, against the Eagles as he was responsible for both of MU's runs. He scored on a wild pitch in the fifth and singled home Gio Ferraro in the sixth.
Â
"KB had a great night. He brings great energy and plays great defense. All of his hits were on a line. Every now and then he gets a little loose, and he'll roll over a ball or fly out. But when he stays solid playing the plain, he's a good hitter," Beals said about Peralta's performance.
Â
Starting pitcher Raymond Pacella struck out a pair of Morehead State batters and allowed just one baserunner in two scoreless frames.
Â
Out of the bullpen, Nicholas Weyrich punched out four Eagles in scoreless fifth and sixth frames allowing just one hit.
Â
Reliever Drew Harlow threw a pair of perfect innings as he shutout MSU in the eighth and ninth.
