Marshall Cross Country Competes at “Live in Lou” Classic Gold Race

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Marshall cross country teams ran at the "Live in Lou" Classic in Louisville Saturday morning.
In a crowded field of over 75 combined teams, the Herd women finished 16th, while the men finished 33rd. The women finished as the top Sun Belt Conference team, the men second of all SBC competition. Both teams competed in the Gold Race, being the premier race of the three collegiate races on Saturday.
"I'm very proud of the crew today," Head Coach Caleb Bowen said. "Today was one of those days where it's all about competing and pushing through the 2nd half of the race. Our pack on both sides is getting stronger and closer together. We'll need to be as strong and as close as possible at the conference championship here in a month but I feel like we are right on track with where we want to be."
Marshall seniors Evan White and Abby Herring led the team in each race respectively. Saturday marked Herring's second top-10 finish at the Louisville Classic. The Parkersburg native won the Silver Race in 2021.
