Herd Baseball to Start Week at No. 13 Virginia Tech

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball team (8-15) hits the road for its first of four games away from Jack Cook Field on Tuesday in Blacksburg, Virginia, against the No. 13 Virginia Tech Hokies (18-4).

Tuesday's game has been moved up to 4 p.m. to 1 p.m. due to projected rain in the forecast tomorrow evening.

PRE-GAME NOTES

The Herd captured its first Sun Belt Conference series of the year over the weekend taking two of three from the Arkansas State Red Wolves.
Cam Harthan currently sits at a seven-game hitting streak after extending it with a single in the bottom of the ninth on Sunday. The sophomore has four multi-hit efforts during, including a pair of three-hit games.
Out of the bullpen, Nicholas Weyrich has been dominant. In 25.0 innings across nine appearances, he has 1.44 ERA allowing just four earned runs with 33 strike outs.

ABOUT THE HOKIES

Virginia Tech enters the week on a six-game winning streak after sweeping its series at Boston College this weekend.
The Hokies rank third nationally with 57 home runs during the 2024 season with Carson DeMartini accounting for 13, fifth most in the country.
VT's .342 batting average sits fifth in Division I baseball, one of three teams in ACC in the top five of the category.
