HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball team (10-7) hits the road to begin Sun Belt Conference action at Arkansas State (7-9) beginning on Friday in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

PRE-GAME NOTES
  • The Herd concluded a nine-game homestand on Wednesday in a loss to Central Michigan. MU saw its nine-game winning streak end but finished the homestand 8-1.
  • Eddie Leon and Elijah Vogelsong each enter the weekend with an on-base safely streak of 13 games with Cam Harthan and Ethan Murdoch at 11 games each.
  • Murdoch leads the team with five homers and five multi-RBI contests as Maika Niu has seven multi-hit efforts. Niu's four triples lead MU and are tied for second most in the country.
  • At 19 RBI, AJ Havrilla sits eighth in the SBC.
  • Marshall is going with the starting rotation of Bryce Blevins, Griffin Miller and Fenix DiGiacomo across Friday through Sunday, respectively.
 
ABOUT THE RED WOLVES
  • A-State enters the weekend on a four-game winning streak after a sweep of Arkansas-Pine Bluff and a win over Memphis on Tuesday.
  • Friday's probable starter Collin Maloney has a 1-2 record. 2.16 ERA and 25 strikeouts across five appearances, with four starts. He leads the conference with seven hit batters.
  • The Red Wolves rank 49th in the nation and lead the SBC with a 3.98 ERA.
  • Ashton Quiller is tied with Niu for the SBC lead at four triples.
