JONESBORO, Ark. – The Marshall University Baseball team (10-8, 0-1 SBC) fell 11-1 in seven innings in the team's Sun Belt Conference opener at Arkansas State (8-9, 1-0 SBC) Friday afternoon in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Â
"Very disappointed in how we showed up today," Herd Baseball Head Coach Greg Beals said after the game. "It was a unique day weather wise (wind), and we didn't handle it well.  The conditions were the same for both teams. The beauty of baseball is we get to go right back at tomorrow with an opportunity to win a road series still ahead of us. "
Â
Cooper Hinson registered the first RBI of his collegiate career with a two-out single that scored Tyler Kamerer as AJ Havrilla registered his team-leading seventh double in the top of the seventh.
Â

Â
The Red Wolves benefited from three runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings with a run in each of third and seventh frames.
