HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball (28-24, 13-14 SBC) is poised to close the 2025 regular season in a three-game series against the Georgia Southern Eagles (27-26, 13-14 SBC) beginning Thursday night at Jack Cook Field.

SENIOR DAY
On Saturday, The Herd will host Senior Day honoring Tim Baird, Fenix DiGiacomo, Eddie Leon, Alex McKay, Elijah Vogelsong, Nicholas Weyrich and Nolan Wilson in a pregame ceremony.

PRE-GAME NOTES
- The Herd swept the Georgia State Panthers over the weekend in Atlanta for its last road series of the season.
- Maika Niu is swinging a hot bat as he's now tied with Ethan Murdoch for the team lead in homers at 10 after hitting six in his last six games. Niu also leads the team with 40 RBI this season.
- Out of the bullpen, Tim Baird has 41 strikeouts in 28.0 innings on the bump as Nicholas Weyrich has five wins and four saves in 2025.
- At 10 sacrifice flies, AJ Havrilla is tied for the national lead as Elijah Vogelsong ranks 25th with 46 walks.
ABOUT THE EAGLES
- Georgia Southern took its series over Texas State last weekend before falling to Kennesaw State on Tuesday night in its midweek contest.
- Josh Tate leads the Sun Belt with a .365 batting average and 80 hits while ranking third with 16 doubles.
- Thursday's probable starter Kade Grundy sports a 7-5 record with a 4.72 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 66.2 innings.
