Marshall Baseball Travels to the Palmetto State for Four Games

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball team (2-1) travels south for a pair of games at The Citadel Friday and Saturday, a neutral site matchup against Navy on Sunday in Columbia, South Carolina, and closing out the weekend at Winthrop on Monday.

PRE-GAME NOTES

The Herd opened the season 2-1 in Kennesaw, Georgia, with a pair of wins over Evansville and a loss to Kennesaw State.
Bryce Blevins registered his first win of 2026 with a 7.0 inning, seven-strikeout performance in a win over the Aces on Friday.
Jackson Halter registered the program's first cycle since 2019 in a win over Evansville on Saturday.
Through the opening weekend Marshall leads the SBC with 10.7 runs per game and ranks fifth in the country with 2.64 homers per game.
Tyler Kamerer sits atop the conference with three doubles, 24th most in the country.

ABOUT THE BULLDOGS

The Citadel dropped its opening series to Liberty to open the season.
Michael Gibson and Will Homes each struck out seven in their opening outings of 2026.

ABOUT THE MIDSHIPMEN

Navy opened the season by taking their series in Charlotte over Queens with wins on Friday and Sunday.
The Midshipmen drew 25 walks in the series, leading the Patriot League after the opening weekend, with Victor Izquierdo drawing five and hitting a pair of homers against Queens.

ABOUT THE EAGLES

Winthrop sits at 2-2 after a series win over Georgetown and falling to No. 17 NC State in midweek on Wednesday. It hosts Morehead State for a series over the weekend before taking on The Herd.
The Eagles lead the country in getting hit-by-pitch with 25.
