HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball team (11-8, 3-0 SBC) heads to Statesboro, Georgia, for a three-game series against Georgia Southern (5-15, 0-3 SBC) for the team's first Sun Belt Conference road series of 2026.

  • The Herd swept Georgia State at Jack Cook Field last weekend to open SBC action.
  • Starting pitcher Drew Harlow was named SBC Pitcher of the Week for his 10 strikeout, 8.0 IP outing against the Panthers on Saturday.
  • Marshall ranks 20th nationally at 2.37 doubles per game and 34th with 45 doubles.
  • At 25 walks, AJ Havrilla leads the SBC and ranks ninth in the country.
  • Friday's scheduled starting pitcher Bryce Blevins ranks 12th nationally with a 13.33 strikeout-to-walk ratio and 23rd in the country at 40 strikeouts.
  • At the plate Evan Bottone leads the team with a .431 batting average, 28 hits, 22 runs scored, a .538 on-base percentage and six homers as he ranks second with 19 RBI behind Cooper Hinson's 20.
 
ABOUT THE EAGLES
  • Georgia Southern suffered a series sweep in its SBC opening series at James Madison last weekend.
  • The Eagles pitching staff has hit the most batters in the conference this season sitting at 45.
  • James McCoy leads the way with a .377 batting average as Sean White has produced 21 RBI and six homers.
